Global growth increases as price inflation rises

Global business activity across all industry sectors grew modestly in March with a headline Sales Managers’ Index reading of 53.6.

This level indicates that the global economy continues to exhibit relatively low but consistent rates of economic activity, World Economics report.

Optimism among managers remains high in March with the Business Confidence Index reporting 57.0 even though the Sales Growth Index continued to recede from its 15 month high in January to 54.3 for March.

Price rises for goods and services have increased again in during the period with the Prices Charged Index increasing to 53.6, up from 53.1 in February.

Towards the end of 2016 there was a marked improvement in the global economy, Q1 started off on a solid footing and managers are optimistic of steadily improving conditions and increased staffing levels.
