Brazil recorded a $4.86 million trade surplus in April of 2016, better than market expectations of $4.7 billion and the highest on record for an April month.
LatAm Exports rebounded while imports decreased in Brazil
Exports went up 1.4 percent year-on-year to $15374 million, recovering from a 5.8 percent decline in the previous month.
Imports shrank 28.3 percent year-on-year to $10513 million. It is the lowest fall in six months and follows a 30 percent drop in March.
So far this year, the country recorded a $13.25 billion surplus. ■
