JD Wetherspoon reports record fiscal 2015 sales, expects great year

JD Wetherspoon reported record fiscal 2015 sales and said it expects a similar performance in the current year.

JD Wetherspoon   Pretax profit was 58.7 million pounds
For the 52 weeks ended July 26, the U.K. pub firm posted pretax profit of 58.7 million pounds ($80 million) compared with GBP78.4 million a year earlier on revenue of GBP1.51 billion and GBP1.41 billion respectively.

Stripping out exceptional items and one-off costs, pretax profit was GBP77.8 million versus the previous year's GBP79.4 million, the company said.

The company maintained full year dividend at 12.0 pence.

Chairman Tim Martin said, in the six weeks to September, like-for-like sales increased by 1.4%, with total sales increasing by 5.2%.

"We continue to anticipate a trading performance similar to, or slightly above, that achieved in the last financial year."
