JD Sports Fashion reported 56% jump in fiscal 2017 adjusted pretax profit and said that it well positioned for further profitable growth despite inflationary pressures arising from the U.K.'s decision to leave the European Union.
JD Sports Headline profit totaled 244.8 million pounds
In January, JD Sports said headline profit, before tax and exceptional items, for the fiscal year will exceed consensus market expectations of GBP200 million by up to 15%.
Pretax profit for the period totaled GBP238.4 million, up from GBP131.6 million, on a revenue of GBP2.38 billion and GBP1.82 billion, respectively. Like-for-like store sales increased by 10%.
JD Sports has declared a final dividend of 1.30 pence per share, giving a total payout of 1.55 pence for the fiscal year, up from 7.40 pence paid a year ago. ■
