Add a ray of sunshine to your balcony, transform it into greenery retreatMartha Taylor-Brown ▼ | March 28, 2020
No matter how small your balcony is, you can transform into a secluded retreat full of greenery. It's easy and it requires just a bit of imagination.
Balconies Dress up your balcony
If you can put a decent table on your balcony, you can go far and wide and functional. Traditionally used indoor pieces give your balcony an indoor room feel and you can play with flowers as much as you like. They can be grown in baskets as well as garden boxes and with a little sunshine you can even try to grow a citrus tree. Herbs and flowers in decorating wooden shelves, an old wooden chair, greenery all around... Go wild as much as you want and you can't go wrong.
Well, sometimes you just don't have enough space to put anything on it but a single chair. But, if you think about it, there's space above you. Garden balconies do not require a large footprint to be effective. When creating a balcony garden in a narrow space, hanging pots and baskets are the key. This design allows many plants to grow in often neglected overhead space. Attaching planters to the balcony railing is another brilliant idea as it doesn’t require additional space. Now, is this a brilliant idea or what?
And remember, it can never be too much. When it comes to a balcony with greenery, it just can't be too much. A colorful balcony can make a dramatic impact in a small space. Maybe you don't even have a space for a chair, but you can have a beautiful explosion of colors and shapes. You can go with many similar pots, or use different ones, it doesn't matter, just go rich. You can even use the wall to hang some pots on it. When you're done, your neighbors will think you just built a home from a fairytale. ■
