Yoox Net-a-Porter will no longer sell fur products on any of its platforms. Animal rights organization Fur Free Alliance will now place the company on its Fur Free Retailer list.

Yoox Net-a-Porter has been actively reducing its fur purchase for its Net-a-Porter, Yoox and The Outnet web shops and has also implemented several systems to make sure fur is no longer acquired.

The announcement was met with praise from high-profile campaign groups, including Humane Society International UK, whose executive director, Claire Bass, said the retailer was setting a precedence.

Other big-name fashion brands, including Tommy Hilfiger, Armani and Calvin Klein among others, have made the same pledge, with Stella McCartney - a Net-A-Porter favourite - being one of the most prominent and vocal advocates of cutting out animal by-product completely from her manufacturing and designs.

Yoox Net-A-Porter Group is an online fashion retailer created on 5 October 2016 after the merger between Yoox Group and The Net-A-Porter Group.
