Taco Bell said it will serve only cage-free eggs by December 31, 2016. Quoting figures from the American Humane Society, Taco Bell said the transition will benefit 500,000 hens.

Taco Bell also said that it will deliver on its goal to remove artificial colors, articifial flavors, added trans fat, high fructose corn syrup, and unsustainable palm oil from its menu by the beginning of 2016.
The company said it will also introduce aspartame-free diet Pepsi products by early 2016 and aims to remove additives and preservatives from food where possible by the end of 2017. ■
