Russian Railways may get the right to provide an up to 55% discount for cargo deliveries within the tariff range, Vedomosti business daily reported.

The initiative will cover second and third-class cargoes including oil, grain, fertilizers, containers and metals shipped to less 1,100 kilometers. Currently, a 50% discount for these types of cargos is effective.
A FAS representative said a higher discount may increase Russian Railway’s traffic, decrease prices for end users and allow the company to "react to the commodity market needs more flexibly." ■
