"This is important because we want to further strengthen our presence in both sea forwarding and road transportation, which is an important addition to our intermodal services in Poland and Germany."
The company transported 89,300 TEU through Ukraine last year, he said, adding that over 80,000 TEU were transported in January-September 2024.
For now, Laude mainly transports pallet cargo, metal products, grain, fertilizers and oil.
"We transport both grain and steel products by Ukraine's key export route to the Greater Odessa ports, which is particularly important in the context of the dynamic market changes. We are using our specialized containers in every case," he said.
Additionally, Laude provides cargo transportation to the EU by rail, and a terminal on the 1.520mm track in Zamosc plays a key role in that.
"Laude Smart Intermodal transports sea containers along the Ternopol-Zamosc-Gdansk route. Previously, the train ran once a week, but it was planned to launch another train in the near future to increase the frequency of transportation and meet the growing demand," the company said.
In addition, the carrier provides services using its own 40-foot flatcars with specialized containers adapted for various types of cargo. Tank containers for oil, gasoline, gas and cement will soon become available in Ukraine. ■
