A senior Philippine official said that there is no basis on which to ban TikTok in the Philippines.
Philippines Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles
Nograles echoed the Philippine presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, who said on Tuesday that there is no reason to ban the popular app.
"I don't see any reason why TikTok should be banned in the Philippines," Roque said.
Both Nograles and Roque have joined the TikTok craze, uploading videos on the app, while TikTok's Philippine user base has soared during the country's coronavirus lockdown period. ■
