The store is located at Rijnstraat number 60 in Amsterdam and will be open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. The opening of another 2 stores is planned for this year.

The new venture is owned and operated by a consortium of five Papa John's Master franchisees in the U.K.: Tony Kalsi, Prasoon Patel, Jitesh Patel, Jaspal Gill and Anil Patel. The venture is led by Tony Kalsi.

Kalsi said, "We look forward to introducing new customers in Amsterdam to our quality ingredients. Our hand-tossed fresh original dough, fresh-packed tomato sauce and cheese made from mozzarella make a truly better pizza."

"Enjoying Papa John's pizza is a shared experience and brings people together all over the world," said Tim O'Hern, Senior Vice President & Chief Development Officer.

The entry into the Netherlands continues Papa John's expansion in Europe. Papa John's International currently has over 320 restaurants in the U.K., 4 restaurants in Spain and recently opened its first restaurant in Northern France on May 24, 2016.

Papa John's International is currently looking for potential franchisees in other areas of France, as well as Poland, Czech Republic and Belgium.
