Citigroup to cut 11,000 jobs

Citigroup announced a series of actions to reduce expenses and improve efficiency, including cutting 11,000 jobs. The company would take a pretax charge of approximately $1 billion for the cuts.

Saputo buys Morningstar for $1.45 billion

Canadian dairy producer Saputo Inc. said that it has agreed to buy Morningstar, a subsidiary of Dean Foods Company, for $1.45 billion. The combined business will have approximately 12,000 employees and 57 manufacturing facilities in five countries.
