The amendment was required for the use of Midatech's sustained release products being made at its Bilbao facility in northern Spain. These include octreotide, which is due to enter clinical trials shortly.
Midatech focuses on the development and commercialisation of pharmaceutical products for oncology.
Chief executive Jim Phillips said: "The manufacturing facility in Bilbao continues to develop as a centre of excellence, currently producing all our human clinical stage products.
"This latest certification allowing good manufacturing practice for our Q-Sphera products such as Q-Octreotide, allows us to continue our key programmes and to start preparing for commercial scale manufacture as our products get closer to filings with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other agencies." ■
