Elementis confirmed that production at its chromium facility in Castle Hayne, North Carolina has been disrupted as a result of the recent Hurricane Florence.

Whilst the facility has not sustained any significant structural damage, flooding around the plant has stopped production.

Elementis has focused its efforts on ensuring the safety of its 113 employees in Castle Hayne and restarting operations in a safe manner as soon as possible.

Subject to local conditions, which it continues to monitor, Elementis estimates the plant should return to production during October 2018 and the impact on 2018 Group earnings is anticipated, at this time, to be modest. Trading across the rest of the Group continues to be in line with expectations.
