Gazprom is considering expanding to Latin America and Southeast Asia, head of Gazprom International Valery Gulev told the company's corporate magazine.

"From the point of view of prospective projects and regions, right now projects in Latin America and Southeast Asia appear the most interesting," Gulev said.
Russian Parliament Ratifies Deal on Gas Supplies to China via Eastern Route Gulev added that Gazprom International is also looking to expand from traditional exploration and extraction into pipeline construction and energy generation.
Gazprom is also conducting exploration to build a drilling platform off the coast of southern Vietnam together with Petrovietnam. On Friday, Vietnam's state-owned oil monopoly Petrovietnam Oil reportedly invited Gazprom to buy a stake in the company and become its strategic partner. ■
