Gazprom, DEPA, and Edison sign deal on southern route for Russian gas to Europe

Alexey Miller, chairman of the management committee of Gazprom, Marc Benayoun, CEO of Edison and executive vice president of the EDF Group, and Theodoros Kitsakos, CEO of DEPA, signed a cooperation agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2017.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Carlo Calenda, Minister of Economic Development of Italy, and Giorgos Tsipras, Secretary General for International Economic Relations at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The document envisages joint efforts aimed at establishing a southern route for Russian gas supplies from Russia to Europe, which will run across Turkey to Greece and further to Italy.

The three companies will coordinate the implementation of the TurkStream project and the Poseidon project in the area from the Turkish-Greek border to Italy in full compliance with applicable legislation.

In addition, the Agreement formalizes the arrangements on expanding cooperation in the field of Russian gas deliveries.
