China's large automotive company DongFeng plans to build a complex of factories in the North-Kazakhstan region, the chairman of the supervisory board of SKO JV KAZ LLP Yerzhan Artybekov said at the meeting with the official delegation of the Chinese province of Hubei.

"Initially, the project was planned for one thousand hectares, but due to the fact that it is a start-up project, the area was reduced to 165 hectares.
At the first stage, DongFeng plans to invest $500 million in the project. The total amount of investments will amount to more than $3 billion. The production of the company's cars will be export-oriented, as the Kazakh market is insufficient for the plant's capacity, Trend reported. ■
