CEO Chen hopes Android will save BlackBerry

BlackBerry that its new smartphone will be running on Android. BlackBerry has refused to comment on the release dates of the devices, however.

Smartphones   2016 could make or break BlackBerry
BlackBerry CEO John Chen did told CNET in an interview at CES that 2016 could make or break BlackBerry. If results not be anywhere close to expectations, the business will be shut down.

BlackBerry has not actually given up on its own BB10 platform. BlackBerry is said to be in the midst on working on certifications for its platform as it is still trying to cater to the needs of government and enterprise organisations.

BlackBerry in December launched PRIV by BlackBerry, the first-ever BlackBerry smartphone powered by Android, trying to get the part of that market too.
