Belarusian Potash Company export up 10%

In the fourth quarter of 2013, Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) boosted the export of potash fertilizers by 10% compared to the same period in 2012.

BPCIn the fourth quarter of 2013, Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) boosted the export of potash fertilizers by 10% compared to the same period in 2012.


In October-December 2013 the company exported over 1.2 million tonnes of fertilizers. In 2013 Belarusian Potash Company sold about 5.7 million tonnes of Belarusian potash fertilizers abroad. "Thanks to the new format of operation in the fourth quarter of 2013 the company materialized its plans in full," the company said.

The efforts to optimize the operation of the overseas offices and subsidiary companies, development of flexible delivery by bulk carriers and containers, and intensified operation of regional warehouses allowed Belarusian Potash Company to streamline product delivery to all the regions of the world in the fourth quarter.

The company projects the increase in sales in the first quarter of 2014, which is believed to maintain stable operation of Belaruskali and create favorable market environment for the entire 2014.

BPC explained that throughout 2013 it was moderately reducing prices and introducing a flexible sales system aimed to develop solid partnerships with each of its customers. Commenting on its operation after the breakup with Uralkali, the company noted that since August 2013 it has been promoting Belarusian fertilizes on overseas markets independently.
