Air France-KLM records positive traffic in August

Air France-KLM posted a 3.1-percent growth in passenger traffic last month driven by strong performance of Asian destinations, the carrier said.

At the end of August, the airlines shipped 7.276 million passengers, up by 2.1 percent from the same period of last year. The load factor gained 1.1 percentage points to 89 percent.

After reporting 5.4 percent-growth in traffic, Asian networks were the company's star performer followed by American destinations which rose by 3.6 percent in August compared to the same performance in 2013.

However, the French-Dutch joint venture saw its cargo activity falling with the load factor standing at 58.7 percent, down from 59.3 percent.
