Aerojet Rocketdyne will invest $11 million to expand its manufacturing operation in Orange County, Virginia.

The company produces propulsion systems and operates a technology development center and laboratories for solid propulsion, and test facilities for rocket motors and air-breathing propulsion systems. The expansion is anticipated to create 100 new jobs.

The company is a world-recognized aerospace and defense company that provides propulsion and energetics to the space, missile defense and strategic systems, tactical systems and armaments areas in support of domestic and international markets.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Orange County to secure the project for Virginia.

Governor Terry McAuliffe approved a $300,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist Orange County with the project. Funding and services to support the company’s employee training activities will be provided through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
