Serbian producers of baby beef, lamb and chicken meat will be able to export their products to Arab states of the Persian Gulf from mid-May.
International export certificates have been agreed and what remains to be done is to meet the requirements of the Halal standards, which is why a Saudi delegation and representatives of the UAE certification authority ESMA visited Serbia this week.
"We need new markets for red meat exports, which have until now been limited to neighbouring countries," Nedimovic said, noting that Turkey and China had last year been added to the list of export markets for Serbian meat. ■
