The negotiations of the representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia were held in Moscow on April 19.
In order to work out a decision on this issue, the parties discussed the measures taken by Serbia on the temporary restrictions imposed by the Rosselkhoznadzor and agreed to conduct an inspection of Serbian stone fruit establishments in the near future.
During the talks the Serbian side expressed interest in signing in June 2019 an intergovernmental Agreement on quarantine and plant protection. In turn, the Russian side handed over to the colleagues from Serbia a draft Agreement with amendments of the Russian Foreign Ministry for elaboration and initialization.
In conclusion the parties noted that the talks were constructive and fruitful and agreed to continue the mutual dialogue to resolve issues hindering effective trade between countries. ■
