In January Russian Federation imported 96.1 KMT of soybean that was record high for the specified month, exceeding January’s 2015 level by 20%.

Since the beginning of season 2015/2016 nearly 808 KMT of soybean were imported to Russia compared with 737 KMT during the same period of season 2014/2015.

The USA, Brazil and Uruguay became key soybean suppliers to Russia in almost equal shares during the first half of the season.

However, beginning from the second half of February Argentina is going to become the largest supplier of soybean to Russia mainly due to Rosselkhoznadzor’s ban on the US soybean imports, and secondly, because importers are switching from North American to South American soybean.
