The specialists of the Central Lab for Valea Calugareasca Wine Quality Check and Hygene have checked 316 samples of wine concluding that some wine lots produced and bottled in Bulgaria were counterfeit, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

As a result of the checks in the special labs, were discovered counterfeit wine lots produced and bottled in Bulgaria and were banned from sale and returned to the Bulgarian supplier.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development underlines that the Romanian wine market offers qualitative products, complying with the law.
The annual wine consumption in Romania is 25 liters/capita and represents only a half of the consumption of the developed countries, which reaches over 50 liters/capita. ■
