The latest support provided adds up to a first share of aid amounting to 11.1 million euros granted to the poultry sector affected by bird flu outbreaks between 2016 and 2017.

With the adoption of this provision, additional funds will be allocated € 32.15 million, for companies that have suffered indirect damage caused by sanitary measures restricting the movement of animals and goods, between 2017 and 2018.

This sum will be accompanied by an equal figure from the national budget Italian, with which various types of damage will be indemnified such as, for example, the losses of production of eggs, poultry, reproducers and the extension of the breeding period.

"We are very satisfied with the result achieved, we fought in the negotiations with Europe to obtain additional resources to compensate for the damage that struck the sector after 2017.

"All requests made by the Italian authorities were considered admissible by the EU Executive, thus allowing the numerous poultry farms involved to obtain adequate compensation for the losses incurred in production". This is what is declared by the Minister of Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies, Gian Marco Centinaio.
