China hopes that there will be more farm produce cooperation opportunities with Vietnam as the two countries are both diverse in agricultural resources and their farm produce sectors complement each other.
Trade The Vietnam Trade and Investment Matchmaking Meeting
The Vietnam Trade and Investment Matchmaking Meeting in Hanoi was aimed at creating opportunities for enterprises between the two countries to boost cooperation and trade in the farm produce sector.
Farm produce of China exported to Vietnam hit $2.4 billion in the first three quarters this year, a year-on-year increase of 13 percent. Statistics showed that Vietnamese agricultural exports fell by 4.9 percent in the first three quarters.
Meanwhile, the country's rice, coffee, banana and pepper exports to China increased 19.4 percent with a total export revenue of $4.3 billion. China mainly exports apples, mandarins, and grapes to Vietnam while Vietnam exports mainly longans, litchis, banana and rice to China. ■
