Al Badr Seafoods first Indian member of the International Pole & Line Foundation

Al Badr Seafoods has become the first Indian member of the International Pole & Line Foundation (IPNLF) and has extended its support for its local one-by-one tuna fishery.

Located in Cochin, South India, close to the Lakshadweep pole-and-line tuna fishery, Al Badr Seafoods processes skipjack and yellowfin tuna, as well as other fish species varieties.

The company produces 160,000 cans of fish and fishery products daily, including 80,000 cans of sustainable pole-and-line caught tuna.

The company, which is the sister company of Tunisia-based Al Badr International, is currently in the process of expanding its facility and extending its product line to incorporate the production of pre-cooked tuna loins and frozen fish.

Through this expansion, it expects to produce 100 containers annually.

As part of its quality assurance, the company also has its own in-house laboratory that conducts microbiological and histamine analysis.

Its products are exported to markets in Africa, the Caribbean, Middle East, South America and Asia.
