Spanish Secretary General of Agriculture and Food, Carlos Cabanas trade with China has reached a record 658 million euros in 2014.

Cabanas stressed the importance of the food industry in Spain, which has more than 900,000 farms and employs over 2.5 million people. A sector, he said, that has become one of the main engines of Spanish exports, accounting for 17% of all foreign trade, and which has placed Spain as the world's eighth largest exporter of agricultural products.
He underlined the exponential growth of agricultural trade between Spain and China in recent years; the value of Spanish exports reached a record 658 million euros in 2014 and this trend has been accentuated throughout 2015, with sales growing by more than 30% in the first half of the year and making China the second largest recipient of Spanish exports outside the EU, only behind the U.S. ■
