A A$1.66 million project to develop an 'investment ready' aquaculture zone in coastal waters on Western Australia's south coast has been announced.
Waters Down Under The south coast aquaculture development zone
The area being considered for the zone encompasses the South-West, Great Southern and Goldfields-Esperance regions, and is expected to contain multiple areas near regional centres, producing native shellfish and finfish species.
The three-year project will be carried out in stages in consultation with aquaculture producers, representative organisations, investors and local communities. ■
