September 4, 2008, San Francisco, Ca., USA - Visa Inc. announced the appointment of Bill Sheedy as President, North America.

Mr. Sheedy holds a B.S. from West Virginia University and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Sheedy joined Visa U.S.A. in May 1993. Prior to joining, Mr. Sheedy spent three years with Ford Motor Company's First Nationwide Bank. Mr. Sheedy has served as Visa Inc.'s Global Head of Corporate Strategy and Business Development since October 2007. In this role, Mr. Sheedy has overseen strategic and new business initiatives for Visa Inc., including marketplace intelligence, mergers and acquisition activities, and cross-regional and cross-functional strategic projects. Prior to that, Mr. Sheedy led Visa U.S.A.'s interchange strategy group and played a leadership role in Visa's recent reorganization and IPO.
