Vectura Group director John Brown steps down
Dr. Brown joined the Vectura Board in 2004. He was previously chairman of BTG plc and Axis-Shield plc. Until late 2003, he was chief executive of Acambis plc, a leading producer of vaccines to treat and prevent infectious diseases.
He is an Honorary Professor of Edinburgh University and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Dr. Brown is chairman of Kyowa Kirin International plc, Synpromics Ltd, the Cell Therapy Catapult and the Roslin Foundation. He also chairs the Life Sciences Industry Leadership Group for the Scottish government.
Dr. Brown has a PhD in Neuropharmacology from the University of Edinburgh and an MBA from Middlesex Business School.
Susan Foden takes over the role of Senior Non-Executive Director.
Dr. Foden joined the Vectura Board in January 2007. She has held various positions in venture capital and UK biotech companies.
From 2000 to 2003 she was an investor director with Merlin Biosciences Limited and was chief executive officer of Cancer Research Campaign Technology from 1987 to 2000.
Dr. Foden holds a number of non-executive directorships with both public and private companies in the biotech and healthcare field, including BTG plc, BerGenBio AS, the Cell Therapy Catapult and Evgen Pharma plc.
Dr. Foden studied biochemistry at the University of Oxford from where she obtained an MA and a DPhil. ■
