Transnet appoints Makano Mosidi as chief information officer
Ms. Mosidi will join the Group Leadership Team. Ms. Mosidi has considerable experience in the ICT sector.
In addition to serving as Chief Information Officer for Middle East and Africa at one of South Africa’s most innovative technology giants Dimension Data (Didata), she has extensive experience in the private sector, primarily IT consulting.
Ms. Mosidi has worked at global technology solutions firm IBM, world-renowned business services and advisory firms Ernst & Young and Accenture, among others.
She also has in-depth knowledge of the public sector, having worked as the Chief Operating Officer and acting Chief Executive of State Information Technology Agency (Sita) between 2000 and 2004.
As Public Sector Executive for the Middle East and Africa at Didata, she provided technology solutions for various state entities throughout the region.
Ms. Mosidi, who started her career as a Maths and Economics teacher, holds a Bcom degree in Financial Accounting and Computer Science. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in commerce. ■
