Temasek names John Vaske as joint head, North America
Mr. Vaske is presently Co-Chairman of Global Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Vaske joined Goldman in 1988 as an Analyst with the M&A team in New York and has since spent his entire career with Goldman.
He relocated and worked in Tokyo from 1989 to 1991 before returning to New York in 1991 and remained with the M&A team till 1997.
In 1997, he was asked to head the Chemicals Group, which later merged into the Natural Resources Group.
He relocated to London in 2005 to head the European Natural Resources Group. In March 2010, he returned to New York as Co-Chairman of Natural Resources Group and was promoted to his current role as Co-Chairman of Global M&A in 2015.
Mr. Vaske graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) in 1988.
Dilhan Pillay, as Head, Americas, will continue to provide leadership and oversight on Temasek’s investment activities and portfolio in the Americas, which include both North America and Latin America. ■
