Scandic to phase out COO position
The Group’s five country heads will be part of the Executive Committee and at the same time, the position of Chief Operating Officer will be phased out.
Martin Creydt, who is currently Chief Operating Officer, has therefore – after 9 years in the Group – decided to leave Scandic.
Mr. Creydt has been Chief Operating Officer at Scandic Hotels AB since August 18, 2015 and served as its Acting Country Managing Director for Sweden until September 1, 2015.
He served as Senior Vice President and Country Vice President of Sweden for Scandic Hotels AB until August 18, 2015.
Mr. Creydt served as the Chief Development Officer of Scandic Hotels AB since October 2010. He served as Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations at Scandic Hotels AB.
He served as Manager of Operations - Sweden of Nordic Choice Hotels. He served as Area Vice President of Scandinavia of The Rezidor Hotel Group until June 2007.
Mr. Creydt's Scandic career started on 1 September 2007 and served as Head of Swedish operations - an area of responsibility which just a few months later was expanded to include all of Scandic's hotel operations. He has first-rate experience in the hotel industry.
He joined Scandic from the Rezidor Hotel Group, where he was an extremely successful head of Scandinavia. He also served as the Managing Director of Choice Hotels Sweden and First Hotels.
Mr. Creydt has a degree in Economics from the School of Business, Economics and Law in Gothenburg, specialising in Service Management from 1986 to 1989. He has also taken part in several management programmes at Cornell University in the US.
Jens Mathiesen is Head of Denmark, Aki Käyhkö is Head of Finland, Svein Arild Steen-Mevold is Head of Norway, Peter Jangbratt is Head of Sweden and Michel Schutzbach is Head of Europe. ■
