Richard Knowlton promoted to Maine Water president

Maine WaterConnecticut Water Service announced the promotion of Richard Knowlton to president of The Maine Water Company from April 1, 2017, to succeed retiring president Judy Wallingford.

Mr. Knowlton was hired as the Vice-President of Operations for what is now Maine Water in 1993.

Mr. Knowlton has extensive knowledge of all of Maine Water's operations and has been actively engaged with community leaders and regulators throughout the state.

He was a key member of the team that integrated Maine Water into CTWS and The Biddeford & Saco Water Company into Maine Water over the past 5 years.

Mr. Knowlton has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Maine, and an MBA from Northeastern University.

Ms. Wallingford has been the President of The Maine Water Company since 1993. She serves as President of Aqua Maine, Inc. She also serves as President of Biddeford & Saco Water Company.

Ms. Wallingford served as Treasurer and Controller for Consumers Water Company, Chairman of Northeast BanCorp and Northeast Bank from 2002 to December 2010, and she has been a Director at Northeast BanCorp and Northeast Bank since 1994

Ms. Wallingford served as Director of Connecticut Water Service Inc. from September 26, 2012 to May 7, 2015. She served as a Director of Brunswick Federal Savings, F.A.

Ms. Wallingford is a Certified Management Accountant and holds a BA from Bowdoin College.
