Rathbone Brothers director David Harrel to step down
Mr. Harrel was one of the founding partners of S J Berwin LLP in 1982, and was made senior partner in 1992.
He relinquished this role in 2006 and is now a consultant to the firm.
Mr. Harrel has a variety of other appointments. He is non-executive chairman of Fairpoint Group.
Subject to regulatory approval, Sarah Gentleman will be appointed chairman of the remuneration committee following the AGM.
Ms. Gentleman started her career as a consultant at McKinsey and Company and then worked for several years in the telecoms and digital sectors, latterly as chief financial officer of the LCR Telecom Group.
In 1999 Ms. Gentleman joined the internet bank Egg, the internet banking subsidiary of Prudential where she was responsible for business development and strategy.
In 2005, Ms. Gentleman joined Sanford C. Bernstein & Co, the institutional research and trading arm of Alliance Bernstein as a banking analyst covering the European banking sector.
Ms. Gentleman graduated from Cambridge with a degree in Natural Sciences and also has an MBA from INSEAD.
She was appointed to the board on 21 January 2015. ■
