Polycom CEO Peter A. Leav to leave

Peter A LeavPolycom and Siris Capital Group announced that Mary McDowell will succeed Peter A. Leav as Polycom’s CEO.
Mr. Leav remains CEO and a board member until the merger of Polycom with an affiliate of Siris Capital is closed. The transaction is expected to be completed in September or October, 2016.

Mr. Leav was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Polycom and named a member of Polycom’s board of directors in December 2013.

Mr. Leav comes to Polycom from NCR Corporation, where he held senior and executive leadership positions since 2009.

Most recently, he was Executive Vice President and President of Industry and Field Operations. He also led NCR’s Interactive Printer Solutions division. In addition, he was a member of NCR’s Executive Committee, helping to develop and execute on the company’s global strategy.

Prior to NCR, Mr. Leav worked at Motorola from 2006 to 2009, where he held the title of Corporate Vice President and General Manager for Motorola’s enterprise business in North America, Latin America and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

He held executive sales leadership positions at Symbol Technologies, Cisco Systems and Tektronix.

Mr. Leav is a graduate of Lehigh University and a member of the board of directors for HD Supply.

Ms. McDowell is a technology executive who has led global multi-billion dollar businesses in the mobile, consumer and enterprise sectors. She is currently an Executive Partner at Siris Capital.

Prior to that, Ms. McDowell was the EVP, Mobile Phones at Nokia, where she held global P&L responsibility for the feature phone business and associated software and digital services.

Ms. McDowell joined Nokia in 2004 to lead the Enterprise Solutions business and later served as Chief Development Officer.

She has also held senior positions at Compaq Computer and Hewlett Packard. She serves on the boards of Autodesk, Bazaarvoice and UBM.

Mr. Leav has served as Polycom’s CEO since December, 2013.
