Norfolk Southern appoints Fredric M. Ehlers as CIO
Mr. Ehlers is a 32-year railroad veteran, will continue serving as vice president information technology, a position he has held since 2013.
Mr. Ehlers joined Norfolk Southern in 1985 as a management trainee.
He served in a number of transportation positions before being named assistant vice president in the executive office of the chairman in 2004.
Since then, Mr. Ehlers has moved into positions of increasing responsibility, serving as vice president customer service and vice president network and service management before being named vice president information technology.
Mr. Ehlers earned an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Queens College, Charlotte, N.C. ■
