Nissan announces senior management changes
Susumu Uchikoshi, currently Vice President of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. and Managing Director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company, will return to Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. global headquarters to assume a newly created role of regional senior vice president for Japan Marketing and Sales.
Mr. Uchikoshi brings a wealth of global sales experience from Egypt, South Africa and China to reinvigorate the sales for Japan.
Mr. Uchikoshi has been Vice President and Managing Director of Passenger Vehicle Company at Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. since April 2014. Mr. Uchikoshi has been Managing Director at Renault South Africa (Pty) Ltd since August 1, 2012. He served as the Chairman, Managing Director and Director of Nissan Motor Egypt S.A.E.
He has been Deputy Program Director of PD Office, NML since April 2006. He has been Manager, Product Economic Control-Profit Department, NML since April 2002 and he has been Deputy General Manager, Global Talent Management Department, Human Resource Division since February 2014.
He graduated from graduate school of Keio University with major in Physics in 1991.
Airton Cousseau, currently President of Nissan Mexicana, will be replacing Mr. Uchikoshi in China.
Mr. Cousseau will be appointed to Vice President of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. as well as Managing Director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle (subject to the board of director’s approval.)
Mr. Cousseau joined NMEX with more than 20 years of automotive industry experience in the areas of Sales, After Sales and Marketing. He previously held a number of management positions at General Motors in Brazil and in Detroit, Michigan. He was also the executive director for Hyundai Motor in Brazil.
Mr. Cousseau has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Federal University of Parana, Brazil as well as advanced degrees in Marketing from the Universidad De La Republica, Uruguay and Finance from the Universidad De Montevideu, Uruguay.
Mayra Gonzalez, currently regional vice president, Sales and Marketing, Nissan Mexicana, will be appointed as president, Nissan Mexicana.
Ms. Gonzalez will become the first female executive ever to assume Presidency of regional operations within the Nissan Group. Her experience spans from Customer Quality, Sales, and Dealer Network Development in North and South America.
Before being appointed to her current position, Ms. Gonzalez was director of Customer Quality and Dealer Network Development (CQ & DND) Strategy.
In that role, she managed the strategic growth of Nissan's Americas distribution network, including North and South America, as well as incorporating different strategies capable of maintaining client satisfaction, sales and post sales leadership in the region. She also supported distribution network development for countries such as Australia, China and India.
Ms. Gonzalez was the first woman to become a member of NMEX's executive committee and was responsible for the development of the first project of the local distribution network.
Ms. Gonzales has a degree on Marketing from the Technological University of Mexico (1998), a master's degree in Advertising from Anahuac University in Mexico (2001), and a degree in Business from the International School of Canada (2007). ■
