Nisa Retail chairman Christopher Baker to step down
Mr. Baker joined the Nisa Retail Limited board in January 2013 as chairman. He has considerable experience in retail, and corporate strategy and governance.
Mr. Baker had senior management roles in Littlewoods, Coopers & Lybrand and Hill Samuel Bank, and, since 2001, has held a broad range of non-executive roles as both chairman and director in major private and public sector organisations.
Mr. Baker is currently also chairman of Viapath Group LLP and two private sector pension schemes, and is a member of the Council of Liverpool University and an independent member of the Audit Committee of the Department for Education.
Nisa announced that Peter Hartley has been appointed interim non-executive Chairman designate.
Mr. Hartley joined the Nisa Retail Limited Board in December 2012 as independent non-executive director.
Formally group finance director of Blacks Leisure PLC and retail operations director of Next plc, he has extensive retail sector experience at both strategic and operations levels having held a number of CEO as well as finance director roles.
Mr. Hartley is currently involved in a non-executive capacity in GOoutdoors UK Limited, providing strategic guidance to management, as well as corporate governance.
Furthermore, he will chair Nisa Retail Limited’s Audit Committee as well as sitting on the remuneration and nominations committees. ■
