MagnaChip chairman Michael Elkins resigns

MagnaChipMagnaChip Semiconductor Corporation announced that Michael Elkins resigned from his position as chairman of the board.

Mr. Elkins became MagnaChip's director in November 2009 and Company's Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee in August 2016. He is currently self-employed as an investor and business consultant.

From 2004 to 2012, Mr. Elkins was employed by affiliates of Avenue Capital Management, most recently as a Portfolio Manager of the Avenue U.S. Funds.

Prior to joining Avenue, Mr. Elkins was a Portfolio Manager and Trader with ABP Investments US. He served as a Portfolio Manager and Trader for UBK Asset Management, after joining the company as a High Yield Credit Analyst. He was a Credit Analyst for both Oppenheimer & Co. and Smith Barney.

Mr. Elkins has served on the board of directors of Bowlmor AMF, a consumer bowling and leisure company, since August 2013.

He previously served on the board of directors of QCE , Trump Entertainment, a casino company, American Media, Vertis Communication, Milacron, and Ion Media Networks.

Mr. Elkins holds a B.A. in Marketing from George Washington University and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
