Lancashire Holdings names Robert Lusardi as director

Lancashire HoldingsLancashire Holdings announced the appointment of Robert Lusardi as a non-executive director.

Mr. Lusardi has spent his career as a senior executive in the financial services industry.

Having started his career with Lehman Brothers, ultimately as Managing Director in charge of the insurance and asset management practices, between 1998 and 2005 Mr. Lusardi was a member of the Executive Management Board of XL Group, serving variously as Group CFO and as CEO of one of XL’s three operating divisions.

From 2005 until 2010 Mr. Lusardi was an executive vice president of White Mountains and CEO of certain subsidiaries. Between 2010 and 2015 he served as CEO of PremieRe Holdings. He is a director of Symetra Financial Corporation, which was listed on the New York Stock Exchange until February 2016.

Mr. Lusardi has been a director of a number of insurance related entities including the prior New York Stock Exchange listed Primus Guaranty Ltd and currently listed OneBeacon Insurance Group Ltd. He has also been Chairman of Pentelia and Pareto Partners Ltd.

Lancashire also announces that Emma Duncan has decided to step down as a Non-Executive Director on the Lancashire Board, following the completion of almost six years’ service on the Board.

Ms. Duncan is the Associate Editor of The Economist and Editor of 1843. She has held several other posts on the paper previously, including Deputy Editor, Britain Editor, Asia Editor and chief reporter, writer and editor on climate change.

Ms. Duncan has covered the media business, the Middle East, home affairs, agriculture, commodities and the transport industry and has served as Delhi Correspondent, covering India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. She has written special reports for the paper on universities, London, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, India, Pakistan and the food industry.

Ms. Duncan has an honours degree in politics, philosophy and economics from Oxford University and started her career as a researcher and reporter at Independent Television News.
