Haemonetics appoints Catherine M. Burzik to board
Until the sale of the company in 2012, Ms. Burzik served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Kinetic Concepts, Inc., a medical device company specializing in wound care and regenerative medicine.
Ms. Burzik's prior positions include President of Applied Biosystems Group, a pioneer DNA sequencing company, President of Ortho Clinical Diagnostics and Critikon divisions of Johnson & Johnson and senior positions with MITRE Corporation and Eastman Kodak Company.
Ms. Burzik currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Becton Dickinson & Company and Xenex Disinfection Services and is non-executive chairman of the Board of Directors of StemBioSys.
Ms. Burzik previously served on the Boards of Directors of Allscripts, Bausch and Lomb, Cordis Corporation, the San Antonio Branch of the Dallas Federal Reserve Board, Innovative Trauma Care, Kinetic Concepts, and VitaPath Genetics.
Ms. Burzik is currently a general partner with Targeted Technology Fund II, a fund within Targeted Technologies. She is also Founder and CEO of the Catherine and Francis Burzik Foundation.
Ms. Burzik education includes a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Canisius College and a Master's in Mathematics from the University of Buffalo. ■
