esure Group appoints two directors

esure Groupesure Group, an insurance company, announced that it has appointed Alan Rubenstein and Peter Shaw as non-executive directors.

Mr. Rubenstein has been appointed as a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees and Mr. Shaw has been appointed as a member of the Risk and Remuneration Committees.

Mr. Rubenstein is the Chief Executive of the Pension Protection Fund (PPF), a role he has held since April 2009.

Prior to joining the PPF was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers from 2006 to 2008 and before that at Morgan Stanley from 1997 to 2006.

Mr. Rubenstein began his career with Scottish Widows, where he qualified as a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries.

Mr. Shaw is currently a Non-Executive director at Aldermore Bank plc, Bank of Ireland (UK) plc and Willis Limited.

He chairs the Risk Committees as well as being a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees at both Aldermore Bank and Bank of Ireland (UK) plc.

Mr. Shaw has formerly held a variety of senior executive positions with Royal Bank of Scotland Group and NatWest where he was Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for the Retail, Wealth and Ulster businesses, and most recently as Interim CRO of the Co-Operative Banking Group.

Mr. Shaw has a wide range of experience in both risk and business roles throughout a career in financial services of over 30 years.
