Debra Polishook named group CEO, Accenture operations
Prior to this role, Ms. Polishook was the Global Quality and Client Satisfaction Lead for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), as well as the lead for Accenture’s Business Support Services team that provides a set of common services across the company’s BPO contracts.
Before working in Outsourcing, Ms. Polishook was the managing director of Accenture’s Media & Entertainment client portfolio in the Northeast United States.
During her 30-year tenure at Accenture, Ms. Polishook has led many transformational programs that have dramatically improved business performance for her clients.
She holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Tulane University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ms. Polishook is succeeding Michael J. Salvino, who will retire from the company and join Carrick Capital Partners.
Before assuming his current position, Mr. Salvino was managing director of Accenture Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and also led sales and account management across Accenture’s outsourcing business.
Mr. Salvino joined Accenture in 2006 from Hewitt, where he served as global sales and accounts co-leader for Hewitt’s HR outsourcing group, responsible for all aspects of sales and client relationships. He also served as President of Americas region for Exult Inc. prior to that company’s acquisition by Hewitt.
Prior to these roles, he spent more than a decade at Accenture, focusing primarily on IT outsourcing and building start-up businesses.
Under Mr. Salvino’s leadership, Accenture has received many industry accolades and has consistently been recognized by industry analysts as a market leader for business process outsourcing services.
In February 2014, Mr Salvino was inducted into the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) Outsourcing Hall of Fame and Accenture has been voted the IAOP global service provider of the year for the last seven consecutive years.
Mr. Salvino holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Marietta College in Ohio and is a member of the college’s Board of Trustees.
Accenture named Manish Sharma group operating officer – Accenture Operations, succeeding Ms. Polishook.
Mr. Sharma, based in Bangalore, India, is currently senior managing director – Global Delivery & Solution Development for Accenture Operations. In his new role as group operating officer – Accenture Operations, Mr. Sharma will continue as a member of Accenture’s Global Leadership Council.
These changes are effective September 1, 2016. ■
