Corus announces retirement of CFO Tom Peddie
Mr. Peddie joined Corus in June 1999, prior to the official creation of Corus on September 1, 1999. He serves as Chair of CPA Canada’s Corporate Oversight and Governance Advisory Board and as a member of CPA Canada’s Performance Reporting Board.
He is past chair of CPA Canada’s Risk Management Governance Board, Lyndhurst Hospital and the Havergal College Foundation. He also serves as a Director and Audit Committee Chair of CCL Industries and Amex Bank of Canada.
Mr. Peddie is a chartered accountant and was awarded his FCPA, FCA designation by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 2003. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor. He has recently received two consecutive IR Magazine Canada Awards for Best Investor Relations by a CFO (mid-cap).
With Mr. Peddie’s retirement, Corus is pleased to announce the appointment of John Gossling as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Gossling will join the Corus Executive Leadership Team on July 4, 2016, and will be based in Toronto at Corus Quay. A highly talented senior finance executive with extensive experience in the media and communications industry, he most recently held the position of Chief Financial Officer for TELUS Corporation.
Prior career experiences include Chief Financial Officer of CTVglobemedia Inc., Vice President, Financial Operations at Rogers Communications Inc., Chief Financial Officer at Rogers Wireless Inc., and Partner at KPMG LLP. In 2016, Mr. Gossling was ranked top CFO for the Canadian telecommunications sector by Brendan Wood International.
Mr. Gossling and Mr. Peddie will work together through the end of August 2016 to ensure a seamless transition. ■
