CGI appoints George Schindler president, CEO, and member of board
In May 2015, Mr. Schindler was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of CGI. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Schindler served as President of the U.S. business from 2011.
In prior leadership roles with CGI, Mr. Schindler led the company’s Canadian operations, led its banking and investments group, and was responsible for its operations in the Greater New York region.
From 2006 to 2011, he served as President of CGI Federal, a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary serving U.S. government clients.
Mr. Schindler joined CGI through the company’s acquisition of American Management Systems, Inc. (AMS), where he held various management and consulting positions in the U.S. and Canada in support of commercial and government clients.
Mr. Schindler serves as a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development, an independent organization of senior corporate executives who bring a business perspective to critical U.S. economic issues.
He also sits on the Business Advisory Board of the Department of Applied Information Technology at the George Mason University School of Engineering.
A recognized industry leader, Mr. Schindler has twice been named a Top 100 Leader by Federal Computer Week and he frequently speaks and writes about technology and business strategy topics.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Purdue University.
He will succeed Michael E. Roach who will retire from the Company on September 30, 2016, while remaining on the CGI Board of Directors.
