Campbell Soup president and CEO Denise M. Morrison retires

Denise M MorrisonCampbell Soup Company, a producer of canned soups and related products, announced that Denise M. Morrison, president and chief executive officer has chosen to retire today.
Ms. Morrison became CEO in August 2011, after more than eight years at Campbell and more than 30 years in the food business.

Ms. Morrison joined Campbell in 2003 as President-Global Sales and Chief Customer Officer.

She then served as President-Campbell USA and Senior Vice President and President-North America Soup, Sauces and Beverages.

Ms. Morrison was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2010, and she was also appointed as a Director of Campbell’s board.

Previously, she was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Kraft Foods’ snacks and confections divisions.

Her extensive food business experience also includes senior leadership roles at Nabisco, Nestle, and Pepsi-Cola.

She began her career at Procter & Gamble.

Ms. Morrison was elected to the MetLife, Inc. board in February 2014. She is also a member of the board of directors for The Consumer Goods Forum, Catalyst, and the Food Marketing Institute, and she is also a member of the board of trustees for Boston College.

Previously, Ms. Morrison served on the Export Council for the Obama administration.

She is consistently ranked among Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business.

Ms. Morrison earned her B.S. degree in economics and psychology from Boston College, graduating magna cum laude.

Keith R. McLoughlin, a Campbell Board member since 2016, has been named interim CEO and will also remain a member of the Board.

Mr. McLoughlin was President and Chief Executive Officer of Electrolux AB, a global manufacturer of major household appliances, from 2011 until February 2016.

Mr. McLoughlin joined Electrolux AB in 2003 as head of Major Appliances North America and Executive Vice President of Electrolux AB.

Between 2004 and 2007, he also served as head of Major Appliances Latin America.

From 2009 until 2011, Mr. McLoughlin served as Chief Operations Officer and Executive Vice President, Electrolux AB.

Mr. McLoughlin was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Electrolux AB in 2011, a position he held until his retirement in January 2016.

Before joining Electrolux AB, he spent 22 years in senior leadership roles at E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, leading several consumer brand businesses including DuPont Corian, DuPont Stainmaster carpet and DuPont Tyvek.

Mr. McLoughlin graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in engineering.

He is a member of the Board of Directors at Briggs & Stratton Corporation.

Mr. McLoughlin has served as an independent director on Campbell’s Board of Directors since 2016.
