June 7, 2008, Qatar - Mrs. Birgit Wenzel has been appointed E-Commerce Marketing Manager at the Doha Marriott Hotel.

Mrs. Wenzel is a graduate of the Salzburger Tourismschool Klessheim, Austria and gained extensive experience at one of the largest Disney Resorts in Orlando, Florida and Disney Cruise Lines before commencing her career with Marriott International in June 2000. Mrs. Wenzel started her career at the Marriott Rewards department in London; in 2001 she joined the London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel as Events Management Assistant. Mrs. Wenzel was promoted to Event Manager in 2002 and in September 2004 she moved to the Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza, Florida to assist with the opening of this property. Mrs. Wenzel returned to London in March 2006 and took on the position as Director of Events Management at the London Marriott West India Quay Hotel and Executive Apartments. Mrs. Wenzel relocated to Doha in early 2008.
